We are in the midst of September, and the rainfall has finally started to cease in Goa. Phew! It’s been a long time coming now. We already exceeded the annual amount of rainfall way back in the end of July, and so to experience another month of torrid rains was really tough. As much as I love the rains, it was beginning to affect me. I reached a point where I wasn’t able to hear my own thoughts because of the constant pitter-patter.
At The Balcao, I’m beginning to a bit of a revamp with the website in an attempt to be more serious and consistent with the content. After browsing through almost every architecture blog there is in the world, and many scribblings later, I finally decided on my website strategy. I realised that the reason i couldn’t churn out content so consistently was that I hadn’t really arrived at an appropriate system for the website, and hence tried to make too serious content within unrealistic deadlines.
And so after much ado, I have arrived at the overall structure for my website. The content will be divided into 3 categories :
Blog – Short notes recording my thoughts or expressing my mood or my feelings in life closely related to architecture.
Essays -well reasearched and articulated, sometimes peer reviewed, articles about a certain topic or theme, that is mostly on the current state of affairs in architecture in Goa, India and the world.
Zines – an annual zine (biannual or even triannual later on if time allows) that ervolves around a certain theme.
Hopefully it all works out…
